September 11 remembered
during 'Keeping Connected'

Pastor Raymond Khachatourian talks about his experiences as a volunteer chaplain in New York following the September 11 tragedy.

Keeping Connected, a staff meeting for School of Dentistry employees, was held Friday, September 5. Joining a full audience of staff were Dr. Ron Forde, director of service learning, Karen Simpson, assistant professor, dental hygiene, Dr. William Loveless, professor, dental educational services, and Sylvia Davis, director of admissions.

Following announcements, Ron Secor, associate dean for financial administration, described his role in the School and spoke about his family and hobbies.

Featured employees of the month were chosen. They are: September, Jennifer Osborne, clinic administration; October, Eddie Glassford, Alumni Association; and November, Nellie Greene, patient business office.

Pastor Raymond Khachatourian, pastor of the Rialto Seventh-day Adventist Church and volunteer chaplain with San Bernardino county Sheriff's department, presented stories of volunteering in New York in the days immediately following the September 11 tragedy that were inspirational, touching, and sad. He is married to Christina Khachatourian, dental supply manager. To close the program, Following announcements, Heather Pundt, SD'05, sang the National Anthem.

The next Keeping Connected will be held Friday, December 5.
