The surgical prosthodontic fellowship in implant dentistry is designed for those dentists who have completed programs of advanced education in a specialty discipline, such as oral and maxillofacial surgery, prosthodontics, or periodontics. The surgical prosthodontic fellowship is structured around a central group of courses and clinical experiences, leaving some opportunity for other embellishments of learning during the one-year period.
The surgical fellowship differs from other fellowship activities (in this and other postdoctoral disciplines) in that it is a one-year program, and is specifically structured on the basis of the candidate and on the surgical or prosthodontic theme. It is a FULL-TIME program; in addition to the five-days-per-week schedule, some evening or weekend call schedules may be required, on a shared basis with the Implant dentistry residents
