Graduation ceremonies held Sunday, May 27, on the campus mall

Jack Kavanagh, president of his dental class, provides the response for graduates.

On Sunday, May 27, graduation ceremonies for the School of Dentistry were held on the Campus Mall.

Graduates, their families and friends gathered under large tents which faced the University’s Chan Shun and Coleman Pavilions, and grey skies gave way to an occasional ray of sunshine as the ceremonies progressed.

The guest speaker, Richard A Simms, DDS, MS’63, first vice president, ADA, asked graduates to consider their futures in his addresss, titled “Careers in the health professions: the realities, responsibilities, and rewards.”

At the end of the program, attendees were invited to a reception sponsored by the Alumni Association near the Good Samaritan Statue.
