Drs. Herford and Eftimie become diplomates of
the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery

Alan S. Herford, SD'94, MD, assistant professor, chair and director of the residency program, and Liviu Eftimie, SD'93, PG'98, assistant professor, have been notified by the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery that they have successfully completed the 2002 Oral Certifying Examination for certification as Diplomates of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery.

"Certification by the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery represents a significant achievement," writes David Frost, DDS, MS, president. "The certificates [Drs. Herford and Eftimie] will receive are tangible evidence of attainment of a standard of excellence in the specialty."

Dr. Herford received his MD degree and oral and maxillofacial certificate in 1997 at University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center.
