In memoriam
Myron Mickelson Jr. SD'71

Myron Stanley (Stan) Mickelson, Jr. SD’71, died March 8, 2002, in Summerlin Hospital, Las Vegas. His memorial service was held at the Mountain View Seventh-day Adventist Church on March 17. Stan was born October l6, l945, in Orange, California. After earning a bachelor of arts degree from La Sierra University he attended the School of Dentistry. In 1971 he passed the ADA National Board Exam. Licensed to practice in Nevada and California, he spent his 31-year career in Nevada. He was a member of LIGA International, volunteering often at dental clinics in Mexico. He is survived by his parents: Myron (LLUSM’45) and Thelma Mickelson of Carlsbad, California; and sisters Carol Ann Bull of Caldwell, Idaho, and Merri Pennington of Carlsbad. Though diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis as a teenager, he enjoyed desert and mountain hiking, both downhill and cross-country skiing, fishing, and boating on Lake Mead and the Colorado River. He was a member of the Sierra Club. Nearly four years ago he received a cervical spine fracture from a fall while cross-country skiing. Approximately ten years ago he was rebaptised into the Adventist Church, becoming a deacon and serving on various committees. He frequently hosted Bible studies in his home. A Stan Mickelson Memorial Fund for Spiritual Ministry has been established at Mountain View Seventh-day Adventist Church, 6001 Oakey Blvd., Las Vegas, NV 89146 (702) 871-0814.
