Dean visits Middle East

Goodacre on camel
Ruthy turns the other cheek for camel kisses near the pyramids of Egypt, while Dr. Goodacre enjoys the view from the camel’s back.

In December 1999, Charles Goodacre, SD’71, MSD, dean of the

School of Dentistry, had the opportunity to lecture to a group of

Arabian dentists in Dubai. He and his wife Ruthy Goodacre, RN,

enjoyed visiting with the people, shopping, and charming the camels.

They were able to visit Dr. Toufic Jeroudi (formerly director of the

advanced education program in orthodontics at LLUSD) and his family

in Abu Dhabi, and then stayed a few days in Cairo, Egypt. The

pyramids, Cairo Museum, Sinai Peninsula and Red Sea are truly

wonders of the world,

according to Mrs. Goodacre. Dr. Goodacre lectured at Cairo University and visited several of

his former prosthodontic graduate students from Indiana University who now practice in Cairo.
