Dental hygiene research
to be published
According to
Joni Stephens, DH69, MSEd, professor of dental hygiene, the California
Dental Journal plans to publish an abstract of the dental unit waterline
study by Mihalka and Mendiola.
Several years ago, we convinced the Journal to publish abstracts
of the winning table clinics for dental and dental hygiene students. And
I am proud to say that since they have been doing that, dental hygiene
has always had an abstract published. And most of the time the dental
students have been published, as well, says Ms. Stephens.
We are submitting two short articles (about 1200 words) to the California
Dental Hygiene Association Journal -- one on patient anxiety by Harp,
Solberg and Hook and the other on the 15 second use of mouthrinses by
Bell, Bretsch and Lents.
We are also submitting abstracts to the Journal of Dental Hygiene
by the same two research groups, says Ms. Stephens.
