Klooster Scholarships awarded

Klooster scholarship
Receiving the first scholarships from the Arlene and Judson Klooster Scholarship Endowment Fund were Michael Stafford and Mark Harris. Offering congratulations are Dr. and Mrs. Klooster.

The first scholarships from the Arlene and Judson Klooster Scholarship Endowment have been awarded to Mark Harris and Michael Stafford, both members of the dental class of 2003.

Mark was born in California, graduating from La Sierra University with a degree in biochemistry. Among his many activities while at La Sierra, he served as president of the Student Association during his junior year.

Michael was born while his parents were missionaries in Burundi. He graduated from Walla Walla College, serving as a youth pastor during summers.

The Klooster Scholarship Endowment was established by an initial grant of $250,000 from the Lindgren Foundation. In each of the past two years they have provided additional challenge grants of $50,000 which have been matched by the LLU Dental Group, Inc.

Arlene Klooster, DH’71, and Judson Klooster, DDS, professor and dean emeritus of the School of Dentistry, continue to support the School of Dentistry in many ways.
