Scholarship support for students

Over $200,000 was given to ten scholarship funds and endowments during the 1999-2000 year to benefit students in the School of Dentistry.

The largest gifts of $50,000 each came from the Lindgren Foundation and the LLU Dental Group, Inc., for the Klooster Scholarship Endowment. Nobel Biocare USA, Inc., provided $45,000 in scholarships for Implant Dentistry students.

Projected tuition and fees for the four-year dental program for a freshman entering this Fall is over $138,000. While various loan funds are available, these dollars must be paid back — with interest. “The importance of scholarship resources for our students cannot be overestimated,” notes Charles J. Goodacre, SD’71, MSD, Dean of the School of Dentistry.

For information on supporting these scholarship programs or establishing a new fund, contact the SD Development Office at (909) 558-4969.
