Dr. Bonnie Nelson appointed chair,
department of pediatric dentistry

Bonnie Nelson, SD'88

Bonnie Nelson, SD'88, accepted the position as chair of the department of pediatric dentistry and assumed her new responsibilities on February 1, 2003.

After graduating from the School in 1988 Dr. Nelson completed her certificate in pediatric dentistry at Oregon Health Sciences University in 1990.

She was in private practice in Washougal, Washington, from 1990 until accepting a faculty position in the School of Dentistry in 2001.

She has been the recipient of professional awards including Omicron Kappa Upsilon, LLUSD Alumni "Student of the Year," and a Certificate of Merit from the American Society of Dentistry for Children.

Dr. Nelson replaced Todd Milledge, SD'88, PG'95, who served as department chair since January 31, 1997. Dr. Milledge provided excellent leadership in the department, and he will continue to serve as a full-time faculty member.
