Board of Trustees Confirms Three School of Dentistry Professors in New Responsibilities
The Board of Trustees of Loma Linda University in their October 26 meeting, have confirmed the appointments of three School of Dentistry professors.
- Carlos Muñoz, DDS, MSD, professor of restorative dentistry, was confirmed as director of the Center for Dental Research, as of July 29, 1998. Dr. Muñoz has been acting director since January.
- Paul Richardson, SD'72, associate professor of restorative dentistry, was confirmed as associate dean for clinic administration, effective January 4, 1999.
Dr. William Heisler's resignation as associate dean, effective December
31, 1998, was accepted with gratitude for his years of service. William
Heisler, SD'59, is professor of restorative dentistry.
"Bill Heisler will be continuing as a full time professor in the
Department of Restorative Dentistry. Please join me in congratulating
Dr. Richardson and also thanking Dr. Heisler for his many years of service
in this important responsibility," says Charles J. Goodacre, dean
of the School of Dentistry.
- Wayne Tanaka, DDS, associate professor of oral surgery, was confirmed as acting chair, department of oral and maxillofacial surgery, effective July 1, 1998.
The Board of Trustees also accepted Keith Hoffman's (SD'83, PhD, associate
professor of oral surgery) resignation as chair of the department of oral
and maxillofacial surgery, effective June 30, 1998.
The final draft of the WASC report and the strategic plan for the University
were also accepted by the Board, and are available for study at the Del
E. Webb Library.
