Loma Linda University Adventist Health Sciences Center (known as LLUAHSC) is committed to the principles of wholeness and quality education, of which diversity is an integral part.
Here, diversity speaks to the importance of building relationships and cooperation among the various groups on campus. It means that all groups--regardless of ethnicity, culture, gender, religion, and physical condition--are valued, appreciated, and included.
The diversity program at Loma Linda has a strong spiritual focus and is consistent with our historic wholeness mission.
The responsibilities of the office of diversity are both broad and specific. In the broadest sense, the office assists the LLUAHSC community in developing and facilitating an understanding of and appreciation for the benefits that result from practicing the principles of diversity.
In this context, the LLUAHSC office of diversity coordinates an inclusive program in cooperation with the University and Medical Center and each of its affiliates.
Specifically, the office of diversity assists employees in appreciating and relating constructively with others in our community who come from backgrounds different than our own. Therefore, the office of diversity is actively involved in providing leadership and service-delivery training in harmony with the Loma Linda University Adventist Health Sciences Center mission.
