Loma Linda University Drayson Center serves as the recreational and fitness facility for all entities under the Loma Linda University Adventist Health Sciences Center (LLUAHSC) corporate umbrella, including about 3,500 students training to become tomorrow's health-care professionals, approximately 3,000 University faculty and staff, more than 8,000 Medical Center and other health-care staff serving the various medical entities, family members, corporate groups, and the general community.
At any given time, LLU Drayson Center maintains about 10,000 active members in its database, with that same number of individuals using the facility in an average week.
Both gift and sponsorship opportunities exist for individuals and corporate entities interested in promoting and sustaining the fitness, recreation, sports, and social aspects of the Drayson Center's facilities and programs.
Much of the 100,000-square-foot, state-of-the-art recreation and fitness center has already been named for generous individuals and corporate entities who helped to transform the Drayson Center from a concept to a reality. Their legacy lives on in the halls of the well-maintained, up-to-date facility, as well as in its innovative activities and programs.
However, there are several major venues which need to be funded, developed, and/or named, including our existing 9.5-acre Superfield; a top-quality softball field, which has already been created; a second softball field, still in the planning stages; and a large covered Sportcourt (for outdoor basketball, soccer, hockey, and other activities) which is at the conceptual stage.
When a venue is named for a generous individual or corporate group, all reference to that venue includes the individual's or group's name. In the case of the Draysons, whose gift of $8.5 million served as the centerpiece for initial construction, the facility is always referred to as the Drayson Center, or even sometimes simply as "Drayson." The generosity of the Drayson family will be remembered in perpetuity.
When a class, activity, or event is sponsored, it is referred to in all related publicity material and signage by the sponsor's name, which becomes synonymous with the "good times" experienced by participants.
Aerobics and other fitness classes for the general membership, as well as our senior members, are available for sponsorship. Our intramural leagues may be sponsored, with the possibility of corporate logos being placed on the jerseys for a particular sport. Special events and offerings, such as the annual Senior Health & Fitness Day or the Corporate Games for example, may also be sponsored and named.
If you would like to make a lasting impact on fitness, recreation, sports, and wellness at Loma Linda for years to come, consider making a gift to LLU Drayson Center or sponsoring an activity or event. Your generosity will be remembered every time our students, faculty, staff, and community utilize a venue or take part in an activity that includes your name. If you are looking for other ways to benefit Loma Linda University that do not involve recreation and wellness, see the "Making contributions to Loma Linda" web page.
