(Condensed version)
Payment for team participation
The team registration fees differ from sport to sport. The costs to enter your team into the leagues will be listed on the captain's letter. A team forfeit fee must accompany the registration. This is collected as a separate, non-dated check.
Student/faculty team: A team that consists only of LLU students or spouses, residents, and/or LLU faculty is considered a student team.
Non-student/community team: Any other mixture of Drayson Center members is considered a non-student/community team.
Forfeit policy
To discourage teams from forfeiting games and to help offset the costs of the forfeited games, each team registering for intramural leagues must provide an undated check for $60 payable to LLU Drayson Center (intramurals).
These checks will be placed in the safe at the Drayson Center and held until the specific league is over. At that time, if a team has not forfeited any games, the team check will be returned or destroyed. If one or more games are forfeited by a team, the check will be kept and processed. Forfeited games will be registered as 1.0 game loss.
Player roster
All players must be listed on the official roster. Any unlisted individual is ineligible to play. If it is discovered that a non-registered player is playing on a team, or one player is playing under another player's name, that team will automatically forfeit the game and the forfeit fee will not be returned. That non-registered player will not be permitted to register or play on any team for the remainder of the quarter.
All participants in the intramural leagues must be Drayson Center members. All memberships must be current in order to participate.
Non-members wanting to participate with a member in the Drayson Center intramural leagues may purchase a "Special Intramural Membership" at the membership office. This membership will allow him/her to only participate on that particular team they registered for. They will only be allowed to acess the Drayson Center at the scheduled game time on the evening of play.
Subsitute player policy
A non-registered player may NOT substitute for a registered player at anytime. However, in the case of a serious injury, a player may be substituted at no additional charge as long as the substitute is not currently registered on another team roster. All substitute players must be pre-approved by the intramural manager prior to game time.
Mandatory team meetings
At the beginning of each intramural season, a mandatory meeting is held by the intramural managers for each league. Team captains are required to attend this meeting. If a captain is unavailable, he/she must appoint a team representative to attend. The team captain is ultimately responsible for making his/her team aware of all rules, game schedules, and policies set forth by the intramurals manager.
Spectator guidelines
Spectators are welcome to observe league games in the Drayson Center gymnasium or the Superfield. They will need to enter through the Service Desk turnstiles when for the gymnasium, or the monitored field gate on the south side for the Superfield. Spectators must enter with the intramural player they plan to watch. While observing the intramural games, children under the age of 14 must be supervised at all times by a non-participating parent or legal guardian. Children 14 through 18 years of age may enter with a participating parent player only to watch that parent participate in the leagues. No spectators are allowed to play. Members who bring spectators assume all liability for the conduct of those spectators, and for liability or damage of equipment or facilities. No food, drink, or gum will be allowed. Spectators are subject to all Drayson Center rules, policies, and authority.
Athletic shoe guidelines
Only proper gym shoes (tennis shoes or the non-marking kind) will be allowed for play in the gymnasium. Only molded rubber cleated multipurpose shoes will be allowed for athletic participation on the Superfield. No screw-in cleat or hard plastic cleat of any type will be allowed.
Discipline rule
If a disciplinary problem occurs during a game and the player is asked to leave the game because of inappropriate conduct, an automatic one-game suspension will follow and the individual must meet with the intramurals manager before he/she can resume participation.
Conduct guidelines
No acts of aggressive physical/verbal violence or abuse will be tolerated. Players guilty of such an actions before, during, or after an intramural contest may be permanently suspended from further play. All leagues are recreational; appropriate Christian behavior is expected.
League parity plan
In order to keep the leagues "balanced" in competitive ability, an A-league player registered on an Division 1 team cannot play in the Division 2 game. Players are strongly encouraged to honor this league parity plan. If a player registered for a higher league is discovered to be playing in a lower-level league game, the team will forfeit that game.
Rainout policy
The decision for game cancellations due to rain will be made and available to participating team captains by 3:00 p.m. the day of play. It is the team captain's responsibility to phone in at 3:00 p.m. and then notify his/her teammates of the playing status. Decisions are made according to the following criteria:
Team registration
In order to register your team for the intramural leagues, a team entry form must be properly completed and received on or before the deadline date. Payment and all additional forms must also be received on or before the deadline date. Payment must be paid in full at the time of registration. No team entry form will be accepted without full team payment and the forfeit fee deposit. Cut-off times will be firmly adhered to. Each team must register at least the amount of players needed to play that specific sport, and all pertinent information must be completed for each player being registered. If a specific league fills up, requests for participation will be based on a "first come, first served" basis.
Team Standings
Legue team standings will be determined byW - win, and L - loss. All team standings and intramural information will be posted on the intramural web site (draysoncenter.recsolutions.com) Play-off teams and championship teams will be determined by: A). The team with the best "W - L"record. B). Any head-to-head games played during the season. C). A total of "points allowed" during the season.
Free Agent Players
Individulas who would like to play in the intramurals league, but do not know of a team to join or do not know enough people to form a team can register as a "free agent". Free agents are available to captains at the captains meeting in the event they need extra players. If enough free agents sign up, a free agent team can be formed and a captain chosen. To register as a free agent player, complete the Intramural Free Agent from at the Membership Office
Refunds
Refunds can only be given if a team does not participate in the leagues. Refunds cannot be given due to discipline behavior, rain outs, or facility schedule changes beyond our control.
