Participants with a strong swimming background who are not old enough to participate in a lifeguard training class can get a jump start and learn the skills necessary to assist someone in an emergency while gaining valuable leadership and communication skills. Participants will have the opportunity to put in community service hours by volunteering at the pool in our lesson program and as deck observers shadowing a certified lifeguard.
This program has been divided into age-appropriate activities based on learning objectives and lifeguard readiness skills for each group. Upon successful completion of this program participants will gain knowledge in first aid/CPR, water safety instructor aide, basic water rescue, and develop the skills necessary to assist someone in an emergency.
