Ecology and behavior of Sirenians; does river and/or mate fidelity occur in manatees?
Mari-Lys Bacchus is a first-year master's degree student investigating the ecology and behaviors of Sirenians. Although the study location has not yet been completely determined, Marie-Lys is interested in understanding aspects of seasonal movements in Sienians, as well as whether any level of river and/or mate fidelity occurs. Currently, she is planning initial field investigations and data collection for March, 2005. She's eager to get started with fieldwork and looks forward to developing conservation and educational outreach to local communities while working with these marine mammals.
