+ Required general studies courses. Religion required during the first two years when attending a Christian college. If
not, other general studies courses can be substituted for 8 units of religion.
Complete the Freshman English courses required at an accredited college or university (number of units is variable).
* Additional general studies - must include at least 24 units (anytime during the 4 years) as follows (See Bulletin for more information.):
Cultural heritage - 12 units. One course in human diversity among peers (e.g. cultural anthropology). Other courses from civilization/history, fine arts, literature, modern language, performing/visual arts (2 quarter units max.), or philosophy.
Social sciences - 12 units, in at least two of the following: anthropology, economics, geography, political science, psychology, sociology.

# The geology courses are taught every other year. A student can enter the upper division geology sequence in either of the two
one-year sets of courses.
