Department of Social Work and Social Ecology
Instructions for application
PLEASE OBSERVE THE FOLLOWING INSTRUCTIONS. By doing so, you will make it possible to secure prompt consideration of your application.
- Please use one application form per degree per program. A separate application packet must be completed for each additional program or degree you apply to.
- Department of Social Work and Social Ecology application deadline for both full-time and part-time programs is April 15th for fall quarter entry.
- Make a photocopy of the completed application form
. Send both the original and the copy back to the Graduate School admissions office. Be sure to include all the information requested and two photographs (optional). You may also provide additional information that you feel would be useful in evaluating your qualifications. - Sign the application form.
- Ask all colleges and universities you have attended to send two official transcript of your academic record, including all post-secondary academic work. Transcripts must be mailed directly to the Graduate School from the college or university you attended in a sealed institutional envelope using institutional postage meter in order for them to be considered official. Any transcripts that you mail to us are considered unofficial. Confusion and delay frequently arise when applicants send documents to the program they are applying to instead of the Graduate School admissions office. If you are currently attending LLU or have previously attended LLU, contact our office regarding transcripts before you request them.
- If your native language is not English, scores on either the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) or the Michigan Test must be submitted to the Graduate School.
- Give a personal reference form
to three instructors who know you well and are qualified to speak of your ability and performance as a student. Urge them to submit their references promptly. - Enclose the $60.00 (2000-2001) application fee, made payable to Loma Linda University.
- Again, do not mail your correspondence to any other department, program, or school as it may cause delay in the processing of your application. Address all correspondence (applications, transcripts, references, GRE and TOEFL scores) to the address below:
Office of the dean
Loma Linda University
Loma Linda, California 92350

When your application file is complete--that is, applications, transcripts, and references have been received, official notice regarding admission will be issued from the Graduate School dean's office. You will then be contacted by the department.
