Checking in

When you arrive, go directly to the front lobby and check in at the reception desk. There you will be given a check-in packet that will include dorm registration forms, miscellaneous information and your room key.

Roommates

Lindsay Hall provides both double-occupancy and single occupancy rooms. If you have not yet selected a roommate one will be assigned for you. All students start in a double room since there is a waiting for single occupancy rooms. Only current residents may contact Lynette to be place on the single room waiting list.

Residents who live in a double room must always remember that only half of the room is theirs. They must also work at making the relationship work for both. This will require consideration of such things as: quiet time, music, sleep time, space etc. Basically, they need to have a mutual respect for each other.

Charges

The quarterly (12 weeks) charge for a double occupancy room is $815.00; a modified double occupancy room is $735.00; a single occupancy room is $1075.00. This charge is non-refundable and may be prorated only in extreme circumstances. Since there are no other charges such as utilities, cable TV, internet access, and basic phone service, etc., the residence hall is an economical housing choice.

Mail

Your permanent mailbox assignment is included in your check-in packet. An outgoing mail slot is located at the front desk. Mail is picked up and delivered each morning and afternoon. There is no mail delivery on Saturday or Sunday.

Federal law requires that all boxes remain closed and locked. Desk workers are not allowed to take the mail from your mailbox; you are the only one authorized to remove your mail.

Rounds

Resident assistants make friendship rounds randomly three times a week at approximately 10:00p.m. You do not have to be in the building or in your room during rounds. These rounds are not intended to be invasive but rather they are our way of staying in contact with our residents.

Refrigerators

You may bring your own small refrigerator, up to three cubic feet. Any larger could cause electrical difficulties.

Lindsay Hall has refrigerators available to rent. They are 2.2 cubic feet with a separate 1 cubic foot freezer. They rent for $35.00 per quarter for the first two quarters, $90.00 for three quarters or $115.00 per year. They are available on a first come first served basis.

Parking

Parking lots are provided for Lindsay Hall residents. Lot S is our primary parking area, however, Lots R, T, and U are overflow parking and are located by Nichol Hall, Campus Hill Church and the housekeeping department.

Campus Hill Church needs Lot T (directly across from Lindsay Hall) on Saturdays, so please park elsewhere during that time.

Register your car with the security office when you register for classes. They will give you a yellow parking permit which allows you to park in Lot S for the academic year. In addition to the parking permit for Lot S, every quarter the front desk will have a sticker that needs to be posted on the yellow parking permit.

Security officers will issue a ticket if you violate parking regulations. You will receive a parking regulations booklet when you register your car with the security department.
