Mission of the Drug Information Center
- To provide comprehensive, objective, unbiased, and evidence-base information to health-care professionals for decision making and problem solving activities.
- To provide drug/medical information to Loma Linda affiliated health-care institutions to facilitate the delivery of quality patient care.
- To apply drug/medical information to patient and population specific data and research process to optimize patient outcomes and medication use.
- To teach students, residents, and other health-care providers the skill of efficiently retrieving the literatures, critiquing, and evaluating the drug/medical information and accurately communicating (both verbal and written) the response to patients and health-care providers.
- To serve as an information resource center for faculty, students, and health-care professionals.
- To conduct research for the advancement of drug information and pharmacy practice.
- To support competence, scholarship, global outreach, service, leadership, and life-long learning through integrity, wholeness, and spirituality fostered through the work of the DIC.
