Audio-Visual Materials
Photographs. There is a wide selection of photographs available, ranging from individual portraits to various Seventh-day Adventist institutions around the world. The photograph collection now numbers over 10,000 images. These pertain to Adventist history with special emphasis on the history of Loma Linda University.
Included in the collection are photographs of:
1. Loma Linda University and the surrounding communities, from their earliest beginning to the present.
2. Various medical institutions including the White Memorial Hospital, the American Medical Missionary College, and the Battle Creek Sanitarium. There are several early photograph albums of the sanitarium at Battle Creek.
3. Early Adventist pioneers, both individuals and groups, as well as photographs of many Adventist workers up to the present.
4. Educational institutions such as universities, colleges, academies, and grade schools.
5. Mission facilities in foreign countries.
Sound Archive. A growing collection of Adventist recordings housed at Loma Linda. These include sermons, talks, music, and other programs in the form of audio recordings. Recordings of past prominent Adventist leaders and musicians are preserved on tape and record. The collection includes several hundred records, over 200 wire recordings, many reel to reel tapes and cassettes, as well as early disc recordings, some going back to the 1940's.
Motion Picture Films. A collection of approximately 500 16mm and 35mm movie films of Adventist evangelism, missions, and individuals.
Miscellaneous Materials. Thousands of other images are preserved as glass slides -- many hand-colored -- dating back to the early 19th century.
