LLU Information Systems is the office responsible for the central management of IS resources for the University. Reporting to the vice chancellor for information systems, it includes about 50 personnel devoted to maintaining the network and critical applications running on the network and developing new IT software and services to meet University needs.
Stabilization: Allocate resources and continue processes to ensure that critical University IS applications remain fully functional.
Accessibility: Extend the reach of the University by making information resources available to a wider audience and from a broader array of locations.
Globalization: Support the Seventh-day Adventist Church’s global health-science mission by enabling members of the global community to access the education, research, and health-care resources between and among the various University stakeholders.
Education: Support the faculty and students as they improve the quality of the educational experience and enhance the research capabilities of the faculty.
Innovation: Explore the use of new and emerging technologies to create new solutions to existing or emerging opportunities.
Communication: Make communication services available in the forms of email, peer-to-peer communications, file exchange, discussion threads, and video streaming in support of learning, research, or health care.
Collaboration: Use the communication tools to bring together diverse individuals to work together in the development of ideas that serve the mission of the University.
Optimization: Develop, integrate, and implement systems which maximize the efficiency of the business and academic enterprise, enhance the image of the University, or increase the quality of the workplace experience.
The mission of LLUIS is to support the various academic, business, research, and health-care divisions of the University as they reach out to the local and global community.
