The Apprenticeship Bridge to College (ABC) high school program offers a summer health disparities research project for high school students who will also participate in workshops that will help strengthen them in math, English, and analytical skills. Eligible participants will be high school juniors, or seniors from underrepresented and medically under-served communities who are in the Inland Empire in Southern California.
The ABC program will identify promising high school underrepresented students in science who belong to groups traditionally found underrepresented in biomedical science research. Selected students will participate in a six-week summer program consisting of a laboratory project and enrichment educational activities. These activities will begin the development of analytical reading and writing skills that are critical to becoming a successful biomedical scientist.
