Core facilities and equipment

The CMBGT strives to provide access to a variety of equipment and technologies for support of the CMBGT faculty, as well as other researchers on the Loma Linda University campus.  The CMBGT laboratories are generally equipped for molecular biology studies.  Special facilities include the lower campus darkroom, complete fluorescent imaging facilities (including cameras suitable for whole animal fluorescent imaging), and a FACSCalibur instrument for 4-color flow cytometry.

DNA synthesis and sequencing

The CMBGT no longer provides on-site DNA synthesis and sequencing. The Center maintains a separate web site (www.idtdna.com/lomalinda) that allows prequalified LLU investigators to order oligonucleotides on-line, without getting a separate purchase order, at a very competitive rate. Investigators are billed monthly.  Investigators needing DNA sequencing should continue to bring their DNA samples to the CMBGT (as plasmids in tubes, or in plates, with any special primers) and give them to Lori Hoewing. Samples are sent out on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Billing is as for DNA synthesis.  Interested parties can contact Dr. Marino DeLeon at (909) 558-1000, extension 81365 or the CMBGT administrative assistant, Lori Hoewing, at (909) 558-1000, extension 88777 for further information. Alternately send queries to core@som.llu.edu.
