Tuition Policy for Students Required to Repeat Coursework

  1. Students who are required by the Academic Review Committee (ARC) to repeat a course during the summer will be charged $1,000 tuition for each summer remedial course.
  2. Students who are required by the ARC to repeat an entire academic year will be charged full tuition for repeat courses in which they received a failing grade or for which they were performing below the published pass at the time of the ARC action. Students will be charged one-half of the full tuition rate for repeat courses in which they received a marginal pass. However, if students are required to repeat an entire academic year due to multiple failures, their tuition charge will not be more than two-thirds of the full tuition rate for the year in which they take their repeat courses.
  3. If the ARC requires a student to repeat coursework for which they have already received a passing grade, they will not be charged for the courses they passed.
  4. Students who choose to withdraw from coursework for academic reasons by the end of the week prior to midterm exams for a given quarter will be eligible for a full refund of the quarter’s tuition. Students who choose to withdraw from coursework for academic reasons during or after midterm exams but before the end of the week prior to final exams, will be charged fifty percent (50%) of the quarter’s tuition. Students who withdraw from coursework during final exams will be subject to the policy described under section #2 above.
  5. If a student passes all of his/her classes for a year but chooses to repeat the year’s course work (and is granted permission to do so) he/she will be charged one-third of the tuition rate for the repeat year plus normal additional fees.
