Center for Perinatal Biology
Graduate facilities
Reflecting the range of academic appointments held by its faculty, the Center for Perinatal Biology supports student dissertation research for a broad variety of disciplines including anatomy, biochemistry, pharmacology, and physiology. Students pursuing graduate education within the Center typically first enroll in the corresponding programs of the Graduate School of Loma Linda University, and then select a member of the Center's faculty to serve as their thesis advisor. Graduate students become acquainted with the faculty and their research during rotations arranged in the first two years of graduate education. Financial assistance
Graduate students accepted for doctoral study at Loma Linda University often receive full tuition and stipend support for their pre-candidate years of didactic study. Following successful completion of appropriate comprehensive examinations and ascension to doctoral candidacy, student support derives from the laboratory of the faculty member serving as dissertation advisor. Frequently, this support comes from extramurally funded grant applications awarded to the advisor. In addition, some intramural funds are available on a competitive basis for support of doctoral research. See the University Catalog.
