Loma Linda University Medical Center and Children's Hospital, a 797-bed tertiary-care facility, is the only Level I trauma center serving an area roughly equal to 25 percent of the State of California. The emergency department evaluates more than 44,000 patients each year. As a tertiary-care facility, the Medical Center treats patients who frequently have unusual diseases or complicated medical conditions (i.e., heart transplants, hemophilia, oncology, renal failure, etc.). Operated by the Seventh-day Adventist Church, the Medical Center is internationally recognized in the areas of infant heart transplantation, neuroradiology, urology, pathology, and adult organ transplantation. It is home to the world's first hospital-based proton accelerator for cancer treatment and offers postgraduate training in essentially all specialties.

This is a 373-bed general acute care hospital located within a 10-minute drive from Loma Linda.
Completed in 1977 with a total of 251 beds, the Pettis VAMC is the major teaching affiliate of LLUMC. It is located just a few blocks from LLUMC and provides primary and tertiary care to veterans of the Inland Empire.

This is a 429-bed general acute care hospital that is part of Kaiser Permanente Medical Care Program, the premier HMO in the nation. This facility offers experience in the workings of a well-established managed care setting.
With an entirely new facility opening during the winter of 1997, this 364-bed county facility also serves 52,000 emergency room patients and 118,000 outpatients each year. The new hospital is located in the Moreno Valley, about a 15-minute drive from Loma Linda. (909) 788-3000
