Specialities
Most of my teaching experience has been in Psychiatric Nursing. After I completed the Masters in Family Counseling, I became interested in Sociology so I finished my Doctorate at University of California, Riverside with specializations in Organizational Theory and Social Psychology.
Biographical sketch
Educational background:
BS in Nursing, Walla Walla College (1958)
MS in Nursing, Loma Linda University (1964)
MS Family Counseling Loma Linda University (1978)
PhD Sociology, University of California, Riverside (1988)
Area of teaching
In more recent years I have been able to use my Sociology theory background as I teach Nursing Management to our seniors here in LLUSN. I also teach Introduction to Sociology when needed by School of Nursing or other University students who need it to complete requirements for their respective degrees. Currently, I have been privileged to teach a clinical laboratory for students enrolled in Psychiatric Nursing, as well as a few didactic topics in that course.
Areas of scholarly interest and publications
I have been able to use my Family Theory background in teaching Family Systems Theory and application for many church and community groups, as well as individuals and their families.
