Global Partnerships in Nursing for Wholistic Nursing Care?Iguassu Falls, Brazil (December 18-20, 2000)
Iguassu Falls in Brazil is the poetic venue for the second in the series of three international conferences on Global Partnerships in Nursing for Wholistic Nursing Care, a funded project sponsored jointly by the LLUSN International Nursing Council and the Department of Health Ministries of the General Conference of Seventh-day Adventists. With the objective to reach SDA nurses to provide leadership in enhancing communication and networking among SDA nurse leaders around the world, the Brazil conference offers nurse leaders in the Inter-American and South-American divisions of the world church a chance to convene and to discuss the relevance of wholistic nursing to nursing education and practice in these countries.
Program notes:
Seminars were conducted at the River Plate University in Argentina, at Brazil College, and at Central American Adventist University in Costa Rica in preparation for the three-day conference held in Iguassu Falls, Brazil on December 18-20, 2000. Planning for this conference was a joint collaboration among the LLUSN Office of International Nursing, the nursing departments of River Plate Adventist University and Brazil College. In keeping with the focus of these conferences, the sessions focused on the meaning, practice, administration and education for wholistic nursing care. Participants explored cultural aspects of wholeness, including common elements and issues related to wholistic nursing.
