Global Partnerships in Nursing for Wholistic Nursing Care
The INC, in conjunction with the Department of Health Ministries of the General Conference, has provided leadership to enhance networking among SDA nurse leaders. In August of 1998 a project called Global Partnerships in Nursing for Wholistic Nursing Care was funded and became the centerpiece of this initiative. Focusing on wholistic nursing, its meaning and relevance to the various cultures represented in the world church, it began as a series of 3-day conferences in Asia, South America and culminating this year in Johannesburg, South Africa. One day of these conferences highlights nursing research to give SDA nurses an opportunity to share scholarship and experience with their peers.
This project is jointly sponsored by the General Conference Department of Health Ministries, the Ralph and Carolyn Thompson Charitable Foundation, and international nursing at Loma Linda School of Nursing.
