Assistant Professor, School of Allied Health Professions, Loma Linda University
Personal message:
Welcome to Loma Linda. Having practiced in a variety of settings and the opportunity to work and learn with amazing therapists, occupational therapy continues to be an exciting and dynamic profession. I always tell my students that as an occupational therapist, you are only limited by your own creativity.
Excited to see the country and explore occupational therapy, I worked as a traveling therapist for several years. It was challenging to work in different settings. I found that I relied heavily on keeping current with the literature, using my resources, and networking with other therapists. I then had a management position which allowed me to become involved in program development. I consulted in ergonomics and wellness programs in our community. I soon realized that I wanted to teach. I wanted to work with students who were dedicated to embracing the power of occupation to promote participation and health. I have completed my clinical doctorate which was focused in domestic violence. I believe that occupational therapy has a role in promoting social and occupational justice issues experienced by survivors of domestic violence.
Our program will provide you with an opportunity to experience the power of occupation and prepare you to be leaders and life-long learners committed to promoting health, well-being and participation.
I look forward to meeting you!
