International Occupational Therapy

Students from Jikei University in Japan visit Loma Linda UniversityLoma Linda University Department of Occupational Therapy hosts international occupational therapy students from occupational therapy programs in other countries.

Currently several groups of students from Jikei College in Osaka Japan and Humanitec Rehabilitation College in Yokkaichi, Japan come to the Loma Linda campus to learn about occupational therapy in the United States.

The OT students from Osaka Jikei college visit for several days and enjoy the Southern California attractions and participate in hands-on learning classes with our OT students. They visit area clinics and learn more about OT in the United States. Their visit concludes with a banquet where the students are given certificates from the department, and gifts are exchanged between the two institutions.

The OT students from Humanitec Rehabilitation College are at Loma Linda University for several months. Students live on campus and attend classes with MOT students.Splinting Lab

Several occupational therapy faculty members have traveled abroad to collaborate with various entities. Esther Huecker and Liane Hewitt visited Japan. Dr. Huecker has also visited China. Karen Pendleton traveled to Yemen as an occupational therapy consultant for landmine victims.

Loma Linda University Department of Occupational Therapy has alumni practitioners practicing in other countries and welcomes students from other countries to enroll in our programs.
