Admissions for Radiation Technology programs

Radiation Technology at Loma Linda University is currently in high demand and we do have an influx of student applications. Students are encouraged to submit completed applications as early as possible!

The application window for the AS in Medical Radiography program starting in September 2007 is now closed. Applications for the next start date of September 2008 will begin on January 1, 2008.

Recommendations

Three recommendations are required by the School of Allied Health Professions. The Recommendation Form is part of the online application. Students can choose anyone as a reference, but it is highly recommended that the person making the recommendation be a coworker, previous manager, current manager, pastor, professional in the radiology field, etc.

Schedule an Appointment

You may schedule an appointment to talk with an advisor either in person or on the phone. Contact Beverly at (909) 558-4931 to set up an appointment with a program advisor. Please plan to have available your college transcripts (unofficial copies are ok) and a completed check sheet for your program of interest. If your appointment is by phone, it is helpful if you can fax your information beforehand.

When to Apply

The Diagnostic Medical Sonography program has an application window of October 1 to March 1. All other programs open the application window on January 1. Each of the programs has a different close date. Classes close as they fill. Class sizes are limited and class closures vary. Check with the department for availability. Prerequisites/Requirements

It is suggested that you take a minimum of two years of mathematics and natural science (excluding general science) during your high school years.

You must complete prerequisite course work at any accredited college before being admitted to a program in the School of Allied health Professions. A high school diploma or the GED is required for acceptance. Check our transfer patterns required for entry.

International Students

International applicants, other than from Canada, must complete 45 quarter or 30 semester units of credit at an accredited college in the United States. If English is not your native tongue, a minimum score of 550 for undergraduate from the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) must be submitted along with a minimum score of 5 on the TWE (writing test) is required for acceptance. Application Options

Apply online - $60 application fee

(Please note: Beginning June 1, 2006 we will no longer accept paper applications. All applications will need to be done online. The only exception will be for the Humanitec students. )

For applicants in Southern California, an interview with a representative from the appropriate department is requested. Others will be notified if an interview is desired.

Housing

On-campus housing may be available for men and women. For information on the men's dormitory (Daniells Residence), call (909) 558-4562. For information on the women's dormitory (Lindsay Hall), call (909) 558-4561. Check out the University's Trading Post for local apartment and room rentals. Contact the dorms early to ensure your residence.
