LLU: Educating Radiology Professionals

Radiologic technologists are highly skilled radiology professionals who produce medical images used for diagnosing and treating disease.

The profession is concerned with the use of x-rays, radioactive substances, and other forms of radiant energy in saving lives and improving the quality of life. Specialties in this field include: nuclear medicine, computed tomography, magnetic resonance, radiation therapy, sonography, and dosimetry.

Loma Linda University offers a variety of options for the student who wishes to study in the radiation sciences. The Department of Radiation Technology offers the following programs:

Associate of Science in Medical Radiography
Bachelor of Science in Radiation Sciences (Online in Fall 2008)
Bachelor of Science in Radiologist Assistant (BS or BS Certificate)
Master of Science in Radiation Sciences (New online program in Fall 2008)
Certificate in Nuclear Medicine
Certificates in CT & MRI) (New, shorter, individual programs starting in Fall 2008)
Certificate in Imaging Informatics (New in Fall 2008)
Certificate in Diagnostic Medical Sonography
Certificate in Radiation Therapy
