CKC kidsCommunity Kids Connection (CKC)

Community Kids Connection (CKC) is a SIMS program in the San Bernardino, California, community that aims to make a difference in children's lives. Every Saturday morning, volunteers welcome vibrant children, all eager to spend time with someone who cares. Program activities include story-telling, sing-a-longs, character building skits, puppet shows, crafts, games, and more. The program is very much like a vacation bible school with the added element of building long lasting relationships with children and their families.

The CKC program also includes tutoring and mentoring component. CKC-Tutoring is a partnership between SIMS, EXCELL Tutoring of the Loma Linda University Seventh-day Adventist Church, Social Action Community Health Services (SACHS), the Norton Neighborhoods Initiative, and the public school system. Twice weekly, volunteers invest two hours of their time to make a valuable difference in a child's life. Why such a program? Studies show that children have an academic and social experience that comes from the relationship and friendship of a tutor.

Feel free to join us for CKC on Saturday evening from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. or find out how to become a tutor. Programs activities are held October-May at SACHS, 1455 E. Third Street, San Bernardino, California.
