| Seminar overview | |||||||||||||||||||||
|
Dioxin is a persistent hormone-disrupting chemical that is causing an emerging problem. Dioxin has been associated with carcinogenesis, neurological and behavioral problems, diabetes, immunological problems, endometriosis, and numerous other disorders. Intervention to reduce the waste stream that introduces dioxin into the environment is of utmost importance as a public health measure. In recent years, concern has been raised regarding potential adverse effects of dioxin, one of many environmental contaminants often called "endocrine disruptors." |
