HADM 525 SPECIAL TOPICS: Foundations of Leadership - 3 Units
Overview
Is leadership a sub-discipline of “management?” Can people gain the skills and disciplines of the natural “natural born leaders?” What is it about “leadership” that is needed so much in today’s health-care environment? Why should every health-care worker develop leader skills and hone the disciplines? The course explores the concepts and principles of leadership, the personal qualities and disciplines of leadership, the relationship between leadership and management, and the state of leadership in healthy communities. As such this course is ideal for the person wanting to gain theoretical knowledge of leadership and the willingness to apply the principles in their own life and context.
