HPRO 536 - Program Planning and Evaluation (2 units)
Introductory course utilizing the planning cycle in addressing public health problems. An analysis of trends in health care planning. Application of planning cycle to selected topics. Overview of evaluation design, methodology, and instrument development for health education programs.
Learning Objectives
By the end of this course, the successful student will be able to:
- Select valid sources on information about health needs and interests
- Analyze and discuss current trends in health care planning
- Conduct a community needs assessment
- Plan an effective program proposal
- Design program evaluation plans
- Develop and utilize data-gathering instruments
- Plan budgetary needs and funding for program
- Evaluation effectiveness of a health program
- Apply program planning techniques to diverse cultures
