Environmental health around the world - food quality, water quality, occupational health, outdoor health

The department builds upon students' academic foundation in the sciences to prepare them to meet the growing employment market for environmental health specialists, industrial hygienists, geographic information system specialists, and other professions that examine human-environmental interactions.

The world is growing progressively more complex as we encounter new confront in our efforts to minimize health risks associated with exposures to the growing list of environmental toxins, toxicants and a myriad of ever evolving pathogenic organisms. Albert Einstein said it best: "The significant problems we face cannot be solved at the same level of thinking we were at when we created them." The next generation of environmental health and safety professionals will rise to meet those challenges.
