INVEST IN PUBLIC HEALTH
"Health care matters to all of us some of the time, public health matters to all of us all of the time" - C. Everett Koop
Public health achievements in the past century have given Americans safer and cleaner homes, schools, workplaces, streets, parks, beaches, restaurants, transportation, hospitals, and more.
Many infectious diseases are under control. We recognize the health hazards of tobacco use. Infant and child mortality has decreased. And most of us can expect to live much longer lives than our grandparents and great-grandparents did.
But there is much left to be done.
