CONFERENCE INFORMATION


Conference Description:

Recent decades have witnessed unusual stresses on families. The alarming rates of child abuse, substance abuse, teen pregnancy, and domestic violence all give evidence of a culture where the family is often in serious trouble. This conference will address these issues while featuring information and research on the connection between spiritual values and healthy families.


Conference Goals:

Upon completion of the conference, participants will be able to:

  1. Identify stressors facing the modern family.
  2. Identify the role of religion and spirituality in family development.
  3. Describe the place of community in educating the family.
  4. Explain the differences between authoritative and authoritarian families.
  5. Describe two faith-based programs that help to strengthen families.

Who Should Attend:

Family ministries, family life educators, pastors, church leaders, counselors, chaplains, advance practice nurses, case managers, nurses, occupational therapists, physical therapists, physicians/residents, psychologists, speech pathologists, social workers, all professionals interfacing with families.
