This elective provides a time for seniors to reflect seriously on issues relating to spirituality and mental health and on the implications of these issues for patient care. The primary emphasis is on a core set of readings and individual sessions with faculty to discuss the issues raised. In addition, the student is able to view spiritual integration into patient care by observing a faculty member care for patients and by participating in chaplain-run groups for psychiatry patients. Finally, the student will observe videotaped lectures and participate in seminars or grand rounds as they relate to spirituality topics. Duration: 2-4 weeks year-round Dover Building |
