Dr. Mark C Martin

Dr. Mark Martin is an Associate Professor in the Department of Plastic Surgery at Loma Linda University. He graduated from the University of Manitoba School of Medicine and then completed an Integrated Plastic Surgery Residency at McGill University in Montreal. Because of his well-defined interest in craniomaxillofacial surgery, he decided to additionally attend dental school during his postgraduate training and graduated from the McGill School of Dentistry with his DMD degree. After returning and completing his Plastic Surgery Residency, he completed a Craniofacial Surgery fellowship at Johns Hopkins Medical Institution and the Shock Trauma Center of the University of Maryland in Baltimore. Dr. Martin received additional, extensive microsurgery training during both his residency and fellowship. 

Dr. Martin's clinical practice and expertise is broad at Loma Linda University as he routinely performs complex reconstructive surgery of the skull, face, breast, body, and extremities. He currently directs the Department's Microsurgery service and is an active member of the Children's Hospital Craniofacial Team. His clinical interests lie in reconstructive craniofacial surgery including pediatric and adult trauma, cleft lip and palate surgery, surgical management of craniosysnostosis, advanced microsurgical reconstruction with perforator flaps, and reconstructive breast, body, and extremity surgery. 

Dr. Martin is an important member of the Department of Plastic Surgery's educational curriculum for medical students and residents and directs active research projects in facial trauma, microsurgical techniques, and advanced imaging. Like the other members of the Department's faculty, he has been actively involved with International Plastic Surgery service and education in multiple African countries.
