Dr. Maya Spaeth is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Plastic Surgery at Loma Linda University. She graduated from the University of Calgary School of Medicine and completed her training in Family Medicine before entering the Integrated Plastic Surgery Residency at Ohio State University Hospital. After completing her plastic surgery residency, she completed a hand surgery fellowship at Baylor College of Medicine.
Dr. Spaeth's clinical practice and expertise is broad at Loma Linda University as she routinely performs reconstructive surgery of the hand, face, breast, and body. She is currently the Department's liaison to the Loma Linda University Hand Surgery Center where she consults on the entire range of hand surgery clinical problems. Her clinical interests lie in reconstructive hand surgery, microsurgery, and reconstructive breast and body surgery.
Dr. Spaeth is an important member of the Department of Plastic Surgery's educational curriculum for medical students and residents and directs the Department's journal club series and the hand surgery component of the residents' curriculum. Like the other members of the Department's faculty, she shall continue to be actively involved with International Plastic Surgery service and education.
