Applications from LCME Accredited Medical Schools

All students from LCME accredited medical schools must apply using the AAMC's Visiting Student Application Service (VSAS). Paper applications will not be accepted.

Applications for the 2011-2012 academic year will be accepted according to the following schedule:

• Applications will not be accepted before May 2, 2011.
• Students will be notified by the visiting student coordinator through VSAS within 4 weeks if space is available.
• Placement in a rotation will not be finalized until all required documents and a $50.00 processing fee are received by our office.

Incomplete applications will not be processed. Availability of rotations cannot be confirmed by telephone. Students are instructed not to call or email individual departments or faculty. ALL elective requests must be scheduled through VSAS. Additional information may be obtained by contacting the visiting student coordinator at externships@llu.edu.

Below are links to information regarding electives available at Loma Linda University. LLU requires a criminal background check on all visiting students. If your application is accepted and you have not had a criminal background check completed in the past two years, we will provide you with the necessary additional information. Students will not be allowed to begin a rotation until the criminal background check has been completed.

All applications must be received at least 8 weeks prior to the start of the requested rotation. No application will be considered if received less than 7 days prior to the requested start date. A non-refundable $50.00 processing fee in the form of cashier's check or money order must be received at least 7 days prior to the start of the requested rotation.
