MyLLU&MC
Loma Linda University will be under taking a portal architecture in the near future. This architecture will take into account but is not limited to, security, infrastructure, content management, and web development tools that satisfy the needs of all University constituent groups. The constituents we have kept in mind while developing our portal architecture include students, prospective students, alumni, faculty, staff, guests, university associations, and vendor partners
Students - Once authenticated, students should be able to view their schedules, grades, bills, and transcripts online as well as other appropriate student information. They can currently view the University course guide online and would like to register electronically for courses. Students who are members of recognized University groups should also have access to group materials.
Prospective students - Students interested in attending Loma Linda University should be able to access information they need in making this decision. We will be adding prospect specific information once those individuals have identified themselves as potential students.
Alumni - This group will have access to reunion information, including the ability to register online for events. An option for eGiving to support alumni development is being explored.
Access to LLU resources - All faculty, staff, and students will be able to access applications software they are using in their job easily from MyLLU&MC. Accessible systems would include; PeopleSoft, SIS, the University's alumni system, library resources as well as any other appropriate systems. Access to Loma Linda University information includes, Legacy file structures, netware file structures, and printing services. The single sign-on component of our identity management solution will use lightweight directory service (LDAP) as the authenticating system.
Access web resources - The portal will include a web search engine as well as allow users to access information on the Internet.
