Out of Anger, Out of Nothing
In December of 2007, Kenya erupted in violence after a disputed presidential election. Sammy Lagatt, graduate of Loma Linda University School of Nursing’s off campus master’s program, put his life on the line to try and help his neighbors. Sammy was almost lynched while trying to evacuate people who were in danger; he dug latrines and helped get food to those who were hungry. This is a story of survival—survival of a person, a community, and a country.
