Walter's Charity Golf Classic raises $110,000 for children Steven and Kathy Kienle knew one thing--they wanted to help children. Owners of Walter's Mercedes-Benz of Riverside, the Kienles weren't familiar with the fundraising business. But that did not stop them. In 1996, they bravely launched the First Annual Walter's Children's Charity Golf Classic to benefit Loma Linda University Children's Hospital. To everyone's delight, the golf tournament raised $50,000 its first year. Four annual fun-filled golf fundraisers later, the Kienles have been responsible for raising more than $310,000 to benefit children who come to the Children's Hospital for care. The event this past fall netted $110,000.
