Safe Splashing for Little Ones

Photograph of children in a pool

Young children can drown in seconds—without making any noise to alert you. That’s why it is so important to keep constant watch on young children who are around any type of standing water, be it a bathtub, bucket, or beach.

Keep little splashers safe:

  1. Erect a fence or barricade all the way around backyard pools or hot tubs. Make sure the barrier is at least 4 feet high and difficult to climb.
  2. Never trust air-filled swimming buoys to keep your child safe. Only U.S. Coast Guard-approved life jackets can keep children and adults afloat.
  3. Empty buckets, bathtubs, and wading pools as soon as you’re done with them.
  4. Remove toys from backyard pools after use to avoid attracting young children to the water.

Summer is here. Be well informed before you take your trips to the beach or swimming pool. Call today to receive your free DVD on drowning prevention. Call 1-877-LLUMC-4U while supplies last.
