A. Gary Anderson Family Foundation Board members receive potted plants from Children’s Hospital patients during opening ceremonies of the A. Gary Anderson Family Foundation Activity Room. The activity room was constructed with a $500,000 grant from the Foundation.

Dawn Cushing, home economics teacher at Cucamonga Middle School, Cucamonga (third from left), accompanied her school’s quilting club to Loma Linda, where they presented seven quilts to Children’s Hospital. Accepting the quilts on behalf of LLUCH is Norman McBride, MBA, vice president, LLUMC (second from left), and Anne Andrus, administrative assistant, LLUCH Foundation (left). The quilts will be used by children on the hospital’s intensive care units.

The third annual handcart fundraiser, “For the Children,” was held September 21. Event organizer was Gary Mang, manager of track maintenance at Union Pacific Railroad in Chicago. Mr. Mang was a resident of Yucaipa until recently when he was transferred to Chicago. In the photo, the fastest time—29.7 seconds—was achieved by a team from IMS Racing of Moreno Valley.
